Indeed the first job of a poster is to attract the attention of the passerby and only once this is done can a message be delivered. A good poster then is one which is attention-grabbing, succinct, convincing and memorable. Poster design combines the fine and applied arts, incorporating painting, graphic design, collage, and photography. In countries where television is not a major advertising medium, the poster remains a transient yet effective means of reaching the widest audience on behalf of culture, commerce, and ideology.
A Poster is a large placard or bill that incorporates photography or illustrations that is posted for advertising, publicity or decoration. A posters function includes communication, selling, and persuasion, but a posters first task is always to attract attention so that the message within can be delivered.
Every designer brings something different to a poster, and Arts and Logos' employes a number of designers on each poster desgn to provide you with the greatest possible variety in initial design. However there are some basic principles of design that we instill in each of designers, and that translates over into every design we produce. By far the most important of these is the principle of eliminating noise.
No matter who your audience, business art exists to send them a message and messages are more effective when they are terse and interesting, and easily digestible. Thus at Arts and Logos our ideal is that of less is more.
With this in mind, Arts and Logos works hard to make every poster it creates to be attention-grabbing, succinct, convincing and memorable. |
